The Director
Administration of the Independent Program is in the hands of its Director and the Comittee on the Independent Program. The Director is Heesok Chang, an associate professor of english. His primary roles in the Independent Program are to consult with students about their proposed or in-progress programs and to work with the committee in evaluating major proposals and thesis proposals. The Committee
The Independent Program is administered by a committee which is composed of five members of the faculty: the director and one member from each of the four curricular divisions of the college (the arts, foreign languages and literature, the social sciences, and the natural sciences). This Committee acts as a department and its director as a department chair for all students in the program.
